6:42PM - My Gaia House

My Gaia House, originally uploaded by 123flickr.

Your house starts off empty with concrete walls. Well, this presents the same challenge that you get if you have been a disaster victim... you start off with nothing. This was done in my first week at Gaia. Some how the concept of "owning absolutely nothing" got to me. I had to do something about that. I needed Gaia gold. It took a little longer than a week to rebuild my own life and I still don't have some of the things my avatar at Gaia has. So my little cartoon character and I have a lot in common. We both need to upgrade our wardrobes and houses. On the site you can also learn the basics of doing art based commerce. That's right you can sell your art to other people on gaia with gaia gold to be used on the site (even though you can't upload it there) So, i am probably going to draw this and different Gaia house looks also to add to my drawing challenges. Now I don't plan to spend more time working on my virtual house than I spend on my real house. so future house looks will be farther spaced out. In this picture I have squid legs and a bunch of pets with me. That's right I was half squid for a coulple of days. The wall painting can be gotten by completing puzzles on the game site. Most of the other items have to be purchased in the shops or in the market place from other members who have gotten sales licenses. The fastest way to fill your house is to go ahead and get your licences and start buying and selling, or win auctions in the market place.
This house was done in under a week.

6:31PM - My first 1st Gaia drawing

My first 1st Gaia drawing, originally uploaded by 123flickr.

This is my first drawing of me with my pet "Gwee the Dragon". Gwee the Dragon, which can be found in the market place, was in the August 2006" Thank you letter" that I bought in the market place for Gaia Gold. Thank you letters are sent to members that contribute $2.50 to the site which they use to keep everything going. The site is free and contributions are totally voluntary. Items you get in the "thank you letters" are available for one month only. so the only way to get them is through the market lace or by trading with other members.

This was before I went to the salon and changed my hair. The hairstyle was my original choice when I first created my avatar. The outfit is not available at the gaia shops. This drawing was done with "Sharpie" colored markers and Prismacolors' "Verithin" pencil colors on paper in a sketch book. Let's see how much I improve over time as we shall we.

1:59AM - Rob Thomas' New Video Little Wonders

This Video of "Little Wonders" is made possible through Brightcove services and is the promotional video approved by Rob Thomas

Anybody who doesn't know who Rob Thomas is has not visited my sites yet.  Anybody who still uses the radios already knows, but, a lot of us don't use that thing anymore. I'm going to find out what station plays at my bank, because, I hear him on radio there. At home, in El Paso, I'm having trouble finding stations that come in clear. Oh, I get clear signals when I turn it to a station that is in SPANISH. The music is okay, it would be better if I knew what they were saying though.

10:33PM - Inside McDonald's

Inside McDonald's, originally uploaded by Editor B.

Cleaned and Gutted. Everyone was affected in some way. This is a Mid City Mc Donolds taken 6 months after Katrina. I've seen McDonalds built in 3 months. But, the people are gone. The cars that used to go through drive through windows were water logged. So, business has to rethink thier strategies. Everyone in the direct path of Katrina has to consider new things.

10:18PM - Rubble On Canal Street

Rubble, originally uploaded by Editor B.

Anyone who knows much about New Orleans, also knows a little something about Canal street. On One end downtown you have Main Offices, Hotels and the biggest Department Stores. On the other end you have the some of the cities finest homes. All the way down canal Street and Canal Blvd on thinks usually of prosperity whether it's a new home or business or one that over a hundred years old. The sight of seeing an entire block being removed as condemned property is not something locals expected to see. And then there was Katrina.

10:07PM - Leaning yes this house is Leaning

Leaning, originally uploaded by Editor B.

Katrina did many unusual things to many places. And long after the storm has blown away the after effects continue. This 2 story house is leaning. The first floor is leaning more than the second.

4:19AM - Look alike funzies with celebrities

Look alike funzies, originally uploaded by 123flickr.

Another 32% and I could have been a super star...well years ago at least. But what is it to say ' Hey every one I am 68% beautiful, I know because a face recognition software program told me so".

But Beyonce is coming up a lot on the different photos I submitted with a range of about 22% difference depending on the angle and expression. I think the match shows more about the expression and attitude than the features in some cases.

I know that though this is making some of us happy. Some celebrities would feel insulted if we walked up to them and claimed that we looked like them.

Silly time photo with a wig from a play my sister was in during the late 70's I was about16 in this photo.

4:03AM - age 17 1978 Graduation night - face recognition software

When the match ranges between 75 and 50% there is a huge chance for not really looking like a celebrity. But they put in enough really cute people so that you feel good about yourself for only half way looking like a pretty face. Now when people show up that you didn't care for how they looked, you just leave those off the list all together. When pretty people get on your ist you are saying, "Hey, we really look alike" even if the match isn't that close at all.

5:29AM - Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays, originally uploaded by 123flickr.

This holiday card was made at Rock you originally as an embeddable gadget to post on webpages, blogs, comments.
After embedding the gadget into my 123friendster blog I just liked the look so I decided to use it as my Christmas card here. And I understand that everyone does not recognize Christmas as their holiday. I still want to wish peace and joy to all of you no matter what holiday you celebrate this season or in the near to distant future.

5:18AM - How to add a link to your web addresses

Where many blog and email editors automatically convert web addresses to links, this is not the case with many online profile editors. If you take the right approach it isn't that hard to do. It is actually easier to do than making code show up on a blog. So I put it in a picture form for those of you who might want to blog or pass on the information. The odd part about making code show up is that people will copy the text to a note pad and try to paste it into a blog at a later time and wonder why the text seems to disappear on them. when they put it in their blog editors. You have to use a bunch of "Z's" and extra brackets to turn off the recognition of the code letting it display as text. So, I am going to post it both ways along with tips on remembering how to do it again. I also find that it's easier to find a picture file that a text file so I hope this helps out. No the picture isn't really pretty but we don't need distractions for this. I'll get around to the pretty pictures later. I guarantee that once all of my posts are beautiful, there won't be nearly as many of them.

4:26PM - Downloading Cell Phone Pictures to Your Computer

This screenshot was edited in mspaint. The picture size is 65kb. The background was the selected desktop background selected on my computer. This is a simple technique easy to do even by those with older windows systems which are equipped with mspaint..

2:40PM - IE7 and yahoo toolbar with Messenger

This shot shows the types of choices available on the Yahoo toolbar which you can customize and the multiple different toolbars that can be used on IE7 browser at the same time.

2:37PM - Fake Myspace Login link found in bulletins

Sometimes you just have to delete a friend because of their bulletins. The user was an educated person that had a simple page with pictures of family and friends and vacations. The bulletins, however, were all links to gift cards, ring tones, dating sites, porn sites, page trackers and Oh Yeah...FAKE MYSPACE Login Pages. Well, if you post bulletins that say meet hot chicks with links to porn and put me in your top spots, Then I probably am going to delete you anyway from my friends list.. But attempting to steal people's passwords is a ZERO Tolerance issue.

With the recent rash of bulletin hijackings it is possible that the posts were not made by that user. Then again the person who actually does this would lie if you asked them...wouldn't they? If the poster is innocent then their page won't get deleted and they will learn to look for "bulletins I posted" in the menu to make sure that no fake bulletins are being posted. And if that is the case they can re invite me as friends when the problem is cleared up. But it doesn't look good if the bulletins you claimed to post are spam and the one you claim you didn't post is a fake login page..

Additionally ,be responsible if you post a link you got from somewhere test the links in your bulletin post after you submit it. Be the first to know where your links really go, especially if you choose the ever poplar feature, post this to bulletin. Also use a unique password at myspace that you don't use on other sites. Unscrupulous persons who have login sites may take the chance that you use the same passwords and email at myspace. They can easily generate a program that tries the password and email combinations that thy have collected to attempt to login at myspace or your email accounts.
